§ WAGES AND income
To show your Social Security Number please bring ONE of the following items:
- Social Security Card
- W2 form
- Current pay stub (within 30 days)
- Letters from Social Security Administration
- Federal or State Tax Return
To show your Identity and Age please bring ONE of the following items:
- Valid Photo Drivers License
- Valid State of Michigan ID
- US Passport
- Any picture ID issued by governmental agency, including Michigan Department of Corrections ID*
- School -issued picture id*
- INS-issued certification of naturalization or citizenship
- Birth Certificate
- Medical records
*Must also have birth certificate or a paper from Social Security Administration showing date of birth
Expired documents may be accepted if the documents are authentic and still represent the applicant.
To show you live in Genesee County please bring ONE of the following items showing your name and your Genesee County address:
To show your Income you must bring one of the following:
- Current Paycheck stub (within 30 days)
- Unemployment pay stub (within 30 days)
- Any recent income statements from Social Security, disability, investments, rental income, or any other income
- Documentation of received child support (letter from Friend of the Court, or bank statement)
- Name, address and contact information of your employer if employed
- 2009 Federal Income Tax Information (for proof of any Self Employment)
- If you do not have income, please bring ONE of the following:
- food stamp (Food Assistance Program) letter from DHS showing no income
- the name, address, and contact information of a person, shelter or agency providing you with food, a place to stay, or help paying bills. (If someone provides you housing or other basic needs, this will not count against you if it is not in cash and if the person providing it is not your spouse.)
